Dani Walker is a theater major in college. In her Acting I class, she gets partnered with hot Liam Garrett for a scene, and she couldn't be happier. He's funny and witty, and keeps up with her self-deprecation about her body image (she's a chubby girl). When he learns that she's never had a boyfriend but only one night stands, and she says that she gets very limuted attention from men, he wants to prove her wrong, and they end up in bed. They start a relationship, even though Dani can tell that he's hiding something from her. When she finds out, it's such a big thing that can threaten them both.
I liked Crossing. The subject matter is not usually found in romance books, and it's a fresh twist. Of course, I could spot Liam's secret from far away, but being able to guess was fun anyway. I think Dani is the best character. She's funny and sarcastic, and so generous. Her self-hate gets tiring, though.
